FOUNDING & FIELD FABRICATION

Texas Structural Steel was founded in 2018 in Dayton, TX by Kenny Stanley. There was no fabrication shop — not at first. The early work was done in the field, on-site, with the tools at hand and the understanding that doing it right mattered more than doing it easy. That’s not a romantic detail; it’s the reason the company understands how structural steel actually has to perform in the real world. Those first projects set a standard for precision and problem-solving that still runs through every scope of work today.

BUILDING THE SHOP & GULF COAST INDUSTRIAL FOCUS

In 2019, Texas Structural Steel built its first fabrication shop in Dayton — designed from the ground up for practical, efficient material handling via forklift. It wasn’t a monument to ambition; it was a working shop built to support real projects. From 2018 through 2023, the company focused almost exclusively on industrial work along the Texas Gulf Coast — refineries, petrochemical facilities, and heavy industrial structures that demand tight tolerances, reliable schedules, and zero margin for error. The team grew from 3 employees at founding to a 25-plus person operation, adding detailers, project managers, and skilled fabricators as the project volume and complexity expanded.

2024–2025 EXPANSION & THE ROAD AHEAD

n 2024, Texas Structural Steel expanded beyond its Gulf Coast industrial roots into commercial and institutional markets — bringing the same fabrication discipline that serves refineries to office buildings, schools, and public structures across the region. In 2025, the company added structural steel erection as a formal service offering, becoming a single-source provider from detailing through final bolt-up. With 296-plus completed projects across 6 states in 7 years, the next step is already in motion: a new 20,000 square foot production shop, equipped with overhead cranes and robotic fabrication equipment, targeted for late 2026. It’s the natural next chapter for a company that has never stopped building — including itself.

TSS MILESTONES

2018 — FOUNDED 

Kenny Stanley launched Texas Structural Steel in Dayton, TX with three employees, taking on the first projects through field fabrication before a shop ever existed. 

2019 — SHOP BUILT 

Texas Structural Steel constructed its first fabrication facility in Dayton, TX — purpose-built for efficient material handling and designed to support the growing volume of industrial work. 

2023 — GULF COAST MILESTONE 

After five years of focused work on industrial projects along the Texas Gulf Coast, Texas Structural Steel reached 200-plus completed projects and established its reputation as a dependable structural steel partner in one of the most demanding environments in the country. 

2024 — COMMERCIAL & INSTITUTIONAL EXPANSION 

Texas Structural Steel expanded into commercial and institutional markets, bringing its industrial fabrication standards to a new class of owners, developers, and general contractors. 

2025 — ERECTION SERVICES LAUNCHED 

The company added structural steel erection as a formal service offering, enabling single-source delivery from detailing and fabrication through complete on-site installation. 

2026 — NEW PRODUCTION SHOP (PLANNED) 

A new 20,000 sq ft fabrication facility with overhead cranes and robotic equipment is targeted for late 2026 — a step-change in production capacity and capability.
